Reid Sonnenberg

Personal Trainer

Meet Reid — Certified Personal Trainer in Cincinnati, OH

Strength Isn’t Built Overnight. Neither Is Trust.

Reid has been in the gym nearly every week for over a decade — long before training was ever a job title. He’s a coach who has lived the process, not just studied it. From Small-Town Ohio to the Weight Room Reid grew up in Napoleon, Ohio, in a family of athletes. Following his brother and sister’s lead, he played football and basketball through high school — but the real turning point came at 14, when his brother first brought him to the gym. He fell in love with strength training on the spot: the discipline, the honesty, the way the weight either moves or it doesn’t. About 10 years ago, Reid stopped treating training as a hobby and started treating it as a craft — studying programming, nutrition, and recovery. In March 2026, he moved to Cincinnati, where he now helps clients across the city build strength that lasts.

Credentials

Reid holds two certifications through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), one of the most respected certifying bodies in the fitness industry: His background includes:
  • ISSA Certified Personal Trainer (since April 2025)
  • ISSA Bodybuilding Specialist
Whether the goal is general strength, fat loss, or serious physique development, every program he writes is grounded in evidence-based principles — not fads or guesswork.

What Training With Reid Looks Like

  • A decade of trial and error — so clients can skip the errors. Ten years of serious training taught Reid what actually works, and his job is to compress that learning curve.
  • An athlete’s mindset, adapted to your life. Reid brings the structure, accountability, and competitive edge of an athletic background to every level of client — from first-timers to experienced lifters chasing a new PR.
  • Coaching built on honesty. Reid gives straight feedback on form, effort, and progress — with respect, and with the client’s goals at the center.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of coaching, Reid spends his time with family and friends, reading, playing pickup basketball, and watching sports — especially college football, his first love on a fall Saturday.
